Getting to Work in Southeast Denver

Your commute into work in South Metro Denver every day is made simple and seamless by the cooperation and coordination of four separate entities: the Regional Transportation District (RTD), the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG), the South I-25 Urban Corridor Transportation Management Association (TMA) and the Southeast Business Partnership (SEBP).

  1. RTD operates Local, Limited, Express, Regional and skyRide bus services to the southeast corridor from all corners of the metro area. Many of these services can be taken to various locations within the DTC area or to the Southmoor park-n-Ride, the Arapahoe park-n-Ride, or the DTC Transfer Center.
  2. In November of 2006 a transportation transformation came to South Metro Denver with the opening of the new Southeast Light Rail and expanded bus system.  Now commuters have the option to use light rail between Lincoln Avenue, Downtown Denver and out to Parker Road and I-225.  Check out our interactive map for more information on the four new light rail lines.
  3. The Denver Regional Council of Governments operates one of the country’s most efficient and effective car- and vanpool programs, called RideArrangers.  DRCOG’s network of resources across Metro Denver means that commuters now have a great alternative to driving or public transportation when it comes to getting to the office. Visit DRCOG today and see what they can do for you.
  4. Finally, no matter where you are located in South Metro Denver, the Southeast Business Partnership is an exclusive resource designed specifically to help individual businesses and employees in the southeast area make the absolute most out of their daily transportation opportunities.

Express buses (with an X in their name) and Regional buses (named with a letter) generally operate only during the peak hours. Local Buses operate throughout the day. Schedule and map brochures for all RTD routes are available on-line at www.rtd-denver.com or by emailing transportation@sebp.org.

FREX – Front Range Express

FREX is the affordable, hassle-free Front Range Express commuter bus service with daily service to and from Colorado Springs, Monument, Castle Rock and Denver.  The Arapahoe Park-n-Ride at Village Center Station is the FREX stop for the Southeast Business Partnership region.

Operated by Mountain Metropolitan Transit in Colorado Springs, FREX is the first and only intercity commuter service connecting the Denver metropolitan area with the Colorado Springs area.  FREX was started in 2004 as a Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) demonstration project and is now a permanent public transportation alternative.  FREX continues to improve mobility options and air quality by reducing traffic congestion along the I-25 corridor each day.

The Southeast Business Partnership participated with the Mountain Metropolitan Transit in a survey in late 2008 to assess the ridership needs of the SEBP area.  Of particular interest to SEBP employers was the possibility of an additional FREX stop at Lincoln Ave and I -25.  A final decision on additional FREX stops is pending.
