Going Green

Colorado is fast becoming one of the nations most ambitious promoters of renewable and sustainable business and residential architecture.  We have teamed up with the U.S. Green Building Council and the LEED program to make sure that we stay at the forefront of developments that will guarantee Colorado’s position as an industry leader for generations to come.

The USGBCs mission is to advance and promote sustainable planning, design, construction and operation of the built environment through education, improving industry guidelines, policy advocacy, and information and resource sharing. Southeast Business Partnership is pleased to offer over 20 years of experience in economic development to this rapidly expanding field.

SEBP is also excited about Greenprint Denver - a multi-phase task force developed by Mayor John Hickenlooper to promote the importance of sustainable development and ecologically-friendly practices throughout the community.  With a comprehensive action agenda, the city aims to integrate environmental impact considerations into its programs and policies. Participation from the community is vital for the city to meet a series of goals over the next five years.  Southeast Denver is a major driver of the states economy and SEBPs partnerships with industry leaders in Information Systems and Professional Services will be able to complement Mayor Hickenlooper’s ambitious agenda to the benefit of every business and family in the area.

SEBP is committed to maintaining the open space and natural beauty that makes Colorado an international travel and tourism destination.  Although Colorado’s oil production is among the national leaders in the industry, Xcel Energy is currently developing wind farming facilities that will soon be a major supplier of energy to western states.  That, combined with the efforts of local and national entrepreneurs to advance the development of clean coal will make Colorado a national leader in the greening of energy and industry.

Also, our partners in the construction and homebuilding business are developing their own initiatives to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to developing and utilizing tomorrow’s environmental opportunities today.  Contact our friends to see how they’re leading Colorado toward a greener tomorrow!
